FAQs

How long will the candles last?

Our 8 oz candles have an estimated burn time of 50 hours.

Are your products phthalate-free?

Yes, all of our fragrances are phthalate-free. Phthalates are a family of chemicals that are used in plastics and can be found in some fragrances. There are restrictions on these chemicals because their exposure may cause harm to people so we avoid them altogether.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all of our products are vegan. This means that they do not contain any animal derivatives. Some candles or fragrances can contain musk from the civet cat or musk deer, castoreum from beavers, honey or beeswax from honeybees, milk from cows, sheep, or goats, or ambergris from whales. We choose to avoid these ingredients in order to protect animals.

Candle color & texture variation

Due to a variety of factors influencing the manufacturing of candles we cannot guarantee that all candles will be the same, and variation in mottling, texture, and color will occur. The fragrances used may also affect the color of the candles due to natural variations in the fragrance components’ colors.

It is normal for some of the wax to separate from the glass and give the illusion of a bubble, but it is the wax shrinking and separating from the glass.

The wax is a natural product and each pallet of wax comes in different batches so will have some variation.

Candle tips & safety

  1. The most important thing you can do for your candle is to trim the wick to 1/4 inch in length before each use, and each time the candle begins to smoke, or the wick "mushrooms". How often you trim will depend on the candle. Some candles require trimming once an hour, others once every 4 hours. Trimming will allow your candle to have a longer burn time and less smoke.

  2. The first burn of any candle should be long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquify. This will ensure an even burn for each light.

  3. Never burn the candle for more than 3 hours at a time and never burn a candle when there is less than ¼” of wax at the base.

  4. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  5. Never leave a candle near anything flammable.

  6. Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets.

  7. Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  8. Avoid burning your candle in a drafty area to minimize smoke.

  9. If your candle is burning unevenly, simply extinguish the wick and move it to the center of the container (with a handy tool) while the wax is still soft.

  10. Always protect the surface on which the candle sits.

If you leave the wick uneven and the flame close to the side of the glass, the glass will break.

Please make sure your wick is always in the middle of the container and always trimmed.

Our candles have been tested in accordance with ASTM Standards F2417-09.
